Somontín’s breathtaking views have earned it the nickname “Balcon Del Almanzora.”

Somontín is a quiet village with around 400 year round residents, and an August population of around 1200 people. Despite its small size, Somontín is eclectic and international, with families from at least 12 different countries making their homes in this hidden gem of the Almanzora Valley. The town is located 45 minutes West of the beaches in Mojocar, 1 hour North of the provincial capital, Almeria, and 3.5 hours East of Malaga.

We are an American couple who moved to Somontín in 2025. We are using the knowledge gained through our experience to assist other Americans who wish to move to this beautiful place, and to assist our newfound friends with marketing their homes to an international audience.
